URGENT: Burisma Group and its owner Mykola Zlochevsky deny involvement in illegal actions

13 June 2020

On Saturday, June 13, 2020, during a joint press conference of the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk and the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) Nazar Kholodnytsky, it was wrongfully asserted that certain illegal actions had been allegedly perpetrated in the interests of Burisma Group and its owner.

Neither the Group’s owner Mykola Zlochevsky nor its employees have any relation to the announced events or said funds.

Mykola Zlochevsky has never addressed anyone with requests to commit illegal actions and has in no way contributed to such actions.

Burisma strongly condemns any effort to drag the Group or its owner into an orchestrated scandal clearly benefiting certain actors.

Any mention of Burisma Group or its owner in this context would be construed as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the Group’s reputation.

For this reason, we would like to urge the media to fact-check their sources prior to spreading unverified information.

Burisma Group has always operated and acted within the law. As one of the largest taxpayers in the country, we will continue to support Ukraine’s energy independence and sustainability.
